Fleeting Image

A collaboration with Susie Olczak and Speirs and  Major for the e-luminate Festival.

A collaboration with Susie Olczak to create an interactive optical device that was used to view the lighting of King’s College chapel, Cambridge, with Speirs and Major. The low technology device demonstrated the simplicity of optics, using only reflected light which passed through an opening and mirrors to fragment images inside. This sculpture was able to be adjusted up and down and moved from side to side and was used by visitors to give a new perspective on the architecture of Cambridge. The device became the festival camera, instead of of producing a permanent image it offered the opportunity to take time to stop and reflect on the surrounding architecture.
